Spiritual Touch of the Holy Land - Evangelical. 7 Days

Day 1

Arrival to Ben Gurion Airport

Reception with assistance; Transfer to the hotel; Overnight Tel Aviv

 

Day 2

Tel Aviv, Joppe, Caesarea, Mount Carmel, Galilee Hills

Breakfast in the hotel; Cross the main arteries and avenues of the city to arrive in Joppe, the biblical city from were Jonas fled and where Peter had his “Rooftop Vision” while in the house of Simon the Tanner. Drive along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea Maritima; Here Cornelius, the roman centurion, becomes the first gentile baptized to Christianity and were Peter and Paul were arrested before sent to Rome. Visit the roman theater and the aqueduct while passing by the hippodrome and the crusader’s castle. Proceed further north to the Carmel Mount and the beautiful city of Haifa. See the Baha'i Temple and gardens on the way to Stella Maris, were the Carmelite Monastery protects Elias cave. Even further to the north lies Akko, a fascinating medieval town, in which we shall visit the recently excavated crypts and secret passageways in the royal palace of the crusader kings. Climb the Galilean hills eastbound arriving to Nazareth. Overnight Nazareth

 

Day 3

In the Hearth of the Galilee

Breakfast in the hotel; Visit the main sanctuaries of Nazareth starting in the place of the Annunciation inside the impressive basilica; continue to the remnants of the Holy Family house inside “St. Joseph’s Carpentry”.  Continue via the market place to “Jesus Synagogue”, were HE confirmed HE is the Messiah. Travel the short distance between Nazareth and “Kafr Cana”, where Jesus performs the first miracle, transforming water into wine while in the wedding ceremony in Cana of Galilee. In the afternoon, travel to the Golan Heights visiting Bánias, one of the Jordan River’s main sources and the excavation of the town of Caesarea Philippi. Continue along the Golan’s Plateau passing by local Druse Villages, seeing remnants of the main two wars here fought in 1967 and 1973. Overnight Tiberias.

 

Day 4

Around the Sea of Galilee on the way to Jerusalem

Breakfast in the hotel; Travel along the West Bank of Sea of Galilee to visit the main Christian sanctuaries along its costs line. Climb MT. of the Beatitudes, where the “Sermon on the Mount” was taught; continue to the western bank of the Sea of Galilee to visit Tabgha with the “Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish”; walk to the nearby place of “Peter’s Primacy” and the “Miraculous Fishing” before entering into Capernaum; visit the synagogue Jesus used to pray, teach and preach. Take a boat ride to Tiberias, using a wooden vessel remembering the miracles and teachings done by Jesus. In the afternoon, visit the River Jordan baptismal place before travelling along the Jordan Valley crossing Samaria and Judea, from one side, to Moab and Edom from the other.  Seeing the Mount of Temptation, located behind the city of Jericho, penetrating the Judean Desert climbing the 1200 meters to the City of the Great King, Jerusalem. Gather on Mount Scopus to celebrate a “Triumphal Entry” in front of Jerusalem’s old city walls. Overnight Jerusalem

 

Day 5

Jerusalem, Hills Around Her

Breakfast in the hotel; arrive to the Mount of Olives where some of the main Christian sanctuaries here located: the Ascension, the Grotto of “Our Father”, the Lord’s Tear”, Hosanna Path and the Garden and Basilica of Getsemani. Crossing the Kidron Valley to Mount Zion, visit Caiaphas house in today’s chapel of Peter in Gallicantu; continue to King David’s Tomb and the Last Supper Room. Entering the Old City via Zion Gate, walk over the Armenian, Muslim and Jewish quarters to Mount Moriá and the Wailing Wall. Visit the Davidson Center with its remarkable archaeological excavations assisted by a show of sound and light, to proceed with a walk inside the “Rabbinical Tunnel”. Overnight Jerusalem

 

Day 6

From Birth to Resurrection

Breakfast in the hotel; Travel to the neighboring city of Bethlehem seeing Rachel's Tomb, the Shepherds Fields and the Manger Grotto inside the ancient Basilica of the Nativity. Return to Jerusalem entering the old walls via St. Stephan’s Gate; enter into the Pools of Bethesda and Santana before walking along the “Way of the Cross” arriving to Mt. Golgotha and the Garden Tomb – the place of Jesus’ Burial and Resurrection. Time for prayer and meditation; Overnight Jerusalem

 

Day 7

Transfer to the airport

Depending on the timing of the departure flight, a visit to the Dead Sea area may be possible. Depart Jerusalem via the Judean Hills, passing by Emmaus facing the Valley of Ayalon to arrive to the airport. End of the pilgrimage
