Day 1 - Arrive in Lisbon |

Day 2 - Lisbon |
|
|
|
|
|
We will take a sightseeing tour of the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. We will discover the city's different quarters: the ancient Moorish Quarter Mourarca, the medieval part of town, Alfama; the only quarter that was not harmed by the famous earthquake of 1755, Saint George's Castle which has a spectacular view over the city and the Atlantic Ocean. Also see the quarters of Baixa and Bairro Alto with the famous elevator Ascensor de Santa Justa which connects the Baixa with the Chiado. You will also see the Basclica da Estrela and Pombal Square.

Day 3 - Lisbon, Atlantic Ocean and Fatima |
|
|
|
|
|
Visit of the famous Monastery of San Jeranimo.This is an example of the architectural style prevalent in Portugal during the reign of Manuel I. See the impressive fortress Tower of Belem facing the Atlantic Ocean. Our trip leads us from Estoril and Cascais to the beautiful city of Sintra. In the afternoon we continue our journey towards the medieval city of Obidos and the picturesque fishing village Nazare. Our last stop will take place at the impressive Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitoria in Batalha before we arrive at Fatima.

Day 4 - Fatima |

|
|
|
After breakfast we have the opportunity to travel on the Via Crucis, a beautiful path that was built by Hungarian refugees in 1956 amidst olive and eucalyptus trees. Afterwards we will visit the houses of the shepherd children Jacinto and Luisa. We will enjoy a visit to the Basilica and the village of Ajustrel, the home of the children seers. Back in Fatima, we have the opportunity to attend Mass in the Apparition Chapel. After dinner we take part in a candlelight procession.

Day 5 - Fatima and Salamanca |
|
|
|
|
|
In the morning we depart for the Spanish border. We visit the lovely medieval town Ciudad Rodrigo before we arrive in Salamanca, World Heritage City and European capital of culture of the year 2002. The city's rich history is very much alive, embodied in its grand buildings made of golden stone, its marvelous works of art and its rich cultural life. We will visit an impressive square, Plaza Mayor. We will also see the oldest university in Spain, the House of Shells, the Patio of the Minor Schools, the Old and the New Cathedral, the Convent of St. Stephen, the Roman Bridge and the art-deco museum of the House of Lys; Casa Lys. These are but a few in an endless list of places which we will enjoy seeing during our first day in Spain.

Day 6 - Salamanca, Valladolid and Burgos |
|
|
|
|
|
After breakfast we travel to Valladolid where we enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city including the National Museum of Sculpture with very beautiful examples of sacral wood sculptures. We go on towards Burgos, which personifies the charm of the cities along the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela. We visit the impressive Gothic Cathedral and the Old City.

Day 7 - Burgos and Lourdes |
|
|
|
|
|
On our route today, we discover the Basque Country including a stop in San Sebastian where we enjoy the regional cuisine. In the late afternoon, after crossing the Pyrenees, we reach the Holy Place of Lourdes.

Day 8 - Lourdes |
|
|
|
|
|
In the morning we honor Saint Mary by attending the Eucharist Mass in the Grotto of the Apparitions and then visit the Great Basilica of Lourdes. In the afternoon we take part in the procession of the blessing of the sick. At night we will join in the candlelight procession on the Via Crucis.

Day 9 - Lourdes, Andorra and Barcelona |
|
|
|
|
|
After breakfast we leave for Andorra where we will make a stop for lunch. We will travel through the beautiful landscape of the Catalan Pyrenees and then arrive in Barcelona.

Day 10 - Barcelona |
|
|
|
|
|
Today we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Barcelona, the pearl of the Meditarranean Region with the famous Ramblas Boulevard, the Gothic Quarter, the Cathedral, the avenue Paseo de Gracia, the Catalonia Square and Gaudi's Art Deco Church; Sagrada Familia. This afternoon is free to enjoy in this wonderful city.

Day 11 - Barcelona - Montserrat - Zaragoza |
|
|
|
|
|
This morning we visit the Sanctuary of Montserrat; the religious and cultural centre of Catalonia and important place of pilgrimage and cult to Our Lady. We will visit the monastery and the chapel. During the Conventual Mass we will be able to venerate the famous Black Virgin or La Moreneta and the married couples can renew their wedding vows. In the afternoon we will arrive at Zaragoza, where we will go on a guided visit in the Old City, and to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Pilar. In the evening we will arrive in Madrid.

Day 12 - Madrid |
|
|
|
|
|
In the morning we enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Spanish capital Madrid. We discover the Madrid of the Austrian, the Royal Palace, the Gran Via Boulevard, Cibeles Square, Puerta de Alcala, Puerta del Sol and the famous main square Plaza Mayor.

Day 13 - : Excursion to Toledo |
|
|
|
|
|
Today we visit the World Heritage City of Toledo. In this beautiful city, Christians, Moors and Jews have peacefully lived together for centuries. We stroll through its Old Jewish Quarter where the two synagogues are now the Churches of Saint Mary the White and El Transito. We will also visit the Cathedral, the Monastery of Saint John of the Kings, the Church of Santo Tome and places where we find traces of the famous painter El Greco. In the afternoon we journey back to Madrid. Free afternoon to shop or relax.
